To all that's thinking of buying the 2808...please think about the 3808 or even 4308. Saving the few hundred was not worth all the missing features. Just looked too entry level but I guess the price reflects that. All in all, this is great for entry level home theater but if you want to wow your friends please pass on this one.

I waited/research for a while before my installer recommended this one over Marantz 8002. I was initially not sure for the total power because I wanted to use to power Speakercraft MT6 four inwall speakers (rated 5-150 watt). But boy, this amp did the job to highest satisfaction of mine. I have set it up for two zone and the beauty is that it came with 2nd remote..that works very well too.
Over all it is bit tricky to setup but once it is done...you can't really complain.

This is my second Denon receiver. I used to have the AVR 2805. The convenience of HDMI and the sound of uncompressed audio formats rule. If you don't want to go broke putting in your home theater then buy this receiver and a decent set of speakers and a subwoofer. This receiver makes a not so expensive set up sound like you paid thousands.

All the power and features you could ever use[...] I will and did buy from Abes again. The only negative has nothing to do with Abes, the Denon manual has much to be desired. Hard to navigate and find how to do things.

Sound is amazing but it's tricky to setup. If you love to totally customize your system and settings then you'll love this receiver. I still love it even with the difficulties of setup and worthless manual because the sound is simply amazing both with movies AND music.
