I can't get my sub to work. Great for movies but my Yamaha rx777 100 watt/side was better for music.

Comments about PIONEER VSX03TXH 7.1 Channel AV Receiver:

The unit sounds sensational, and produces a convincing surround sound image. On the other hand, the remote control is poorly designed -- and the instruction manual, while complete, is often difficult to follow. (FYI, I worked on aircraft avionics based on accompanying instruction manual.) Also, some functions that should be upfront are buried, such as bass and treble controls. But the unit is amazingly versatile and I would buy it again. Keep in mind, however, that when you buy from Abe's of Maine, you're not getting a Pioneer U.S. warranty.

Comments about PIONEER VSX03TXH 7.1 Channel AV Receiver:

I switched to the Pioneer after auditioning several other pieces of equipment including several Yamaha units. The sound quality of the Pioneer Elite was noticeably superior to those other units. The ease of set-up was also greatly appreciated; set-up was very fast and logical.

I have very high end Krell equipment for my two channel stereo listening and the front channel pre-outs are a must for audiophiles like myself. For everything other than the most critical two channel listening, the Pioneer is outstanding. Blu-ray movies sound fantastic!

A great unit at a great price. This Pioneer is a real bargain. Highly recommended.

Comments about PIONEER VSX03TXH 7.1 Channel AV Receiver:

My old A/V Receiver didn't have the microphone room calibration software nor the Dolby HD or DTS HD. The sound coming from Blu ray discs now is amazing. I was constantly changing the settings on my old one and now I don't have to do that. The latest HD audio codecs are worth it as well. The fact that everything is automatic is great too. Before I would have to pick which one (Dolby or DTS).

I have an older pioneer receiver in my bedroom. The VSX03THX Elite is great.
