Comments about SONY STRDA3400ES 7.1 AV Channel Receiver:

This receiver has an excellent on-screen user interface. The setup is as easy as it gets for a high-end receiver. The system allows for calibration of multiple listening profiles, each can have a different sweet spot. I am a little disappointed with the remote and the IR receiver. The remote doesn't include the codes for Windows Media Center. The remote also doesn't produce an alternating signal like the Windows Media Center remote (there is a workaround). The IR receiver has only about 90 degrees range and does not pick up reflected signals at all. I would recommend purchasing a separate IR receiver for this unit. It has 2 IR inputs and 1 output. I still would recommend this unit, for anyone looking for a high-end receiver under $1000.
