This receiver is a really good bang for your buck. Yes there are better ones out there, but not with the same amount of features. Plus, if you are already running Sony Gear, the single remote is nice.

This is a great receiver, it was easy to setup and, with the included auto calibration, it was great to be able to plug it in and go (I always like going in afterword and fine-tuning some of the settings anyway, but it is good for ease of initial setup). I only had 2 issues with it. Every now and then, it will a few seconds on certain movies and games to switch over to the correct audio output format and you might miss out on the first second or so of the movie (audio AND video sometimes, if you use hdmi). Not that big of an issue. There is also the slight issue that I have when I try to use my PLAYSTATION3 to output the 24Hz for Bluray movies through it, but this might just be a temporary issue that might get fixed with a future firmware update and it only happens every now and then. When it does happen, the screen goes black and shows "Mode not supported" (on my particular TV, as it may be different on others) when I know that it does and the screen will just remain blank (with audio still playing in the back). In order to get around this, you either have to turn off the 24Hz on the PLAYSTATION3 or to just push a few buttons like the menu button, play/pause, etc. and it will eventually get jarred enough to come on, but, as I said before, it doesn't happen everytime, but it was the only thing that happened to me like this. I just thought that I would mention it.Overall, this is one of the best receivers that I have owned and I take great pride in owning such an awesome unit to my home theater experience. [...]

The graphical setup was a breeze and made it simple to view and change any parameter. The unit sounds fantastic and comes with a five year warranty. This was a replacement for a STR-DA50ES that I purchased 12 years ago. Sony ROCKS!
