This unit replaced another Sony Amp (5.1). That amp produced a good sound. After an easy GUI set up I fired it up and played some SACD's. Very clean sound. The next test was to watch and listen to a few Blue Ray DVd's.. Great!!! I was getting happier by the minute. This amp is hooked up to a Pioneer Kuro. When multi channel sound is piped through it is clean and clear. The 1200 is a more heavy duty unit than the STR DG920. Well worth the additional $100 over the 920. The auto setup with mike works well but I still tweaked it a bit. The GUI interface is fun to use and adjust during any kind of broadcast.

Remote promises but doesn't deliver

Fairly easy to physically set up. Universal remote control extremely hard to set up. Cannot be set up to control cable box power and options even with the proper set up codes. Macros hard to set up and only work with other Sony products.
