Comments about SONY STR-DH800 7.1-Channel Home Theater A/V Receiver:

I use this receiver when watching tv, movies and playing games on both the xbox 360 and ps3. I had an older sony receiver with the same power output per speaker, but the audio with this receiver somehow is a big improvement over my old receiver. I also have my at&t Uverse(tv), video game systems and bluray player all connected via hdmi for both picture and sound. This is probably the best upgrade i've done to my home theater system. I Love the 6.1, i'm in a somewhat smaller room so i'm only using one rear speaker instead of two. I did have to adjust the volume of the rear speaker slightly, but this is only due to the speaker being almost directly behind me. I only have a couple of movies right now that take advantage of the 6.1/7.1 surround set-up, but i feel that it really adds a lot to the overall feeling. I've watched those movies over and over again just for the experience the extra surround creates.
