This receiver was a replacement to update my system. My last A/V Receiver was a Sony 935. The new receiver is excellent but with all the micro processesors it sort of does it's own thing and you have to learn to think somewhat like it does.

Read the instructions slowly and carefully and you will have pretty good luck. You may have to recheck your setting to make sure you got everything toggled the want you want it and using the microphone included with the system helps tremedously with the setup process. This is the main comment I have heerd from other that bought this unit is the setup process and related problems.

The amp has plenty of power. The speaker terminals are okay but you have to be careful to get the wires hooked up. Having easy access to the rear of the unit helps. I used HDMI cables for the first time and that really simplefies things.

This is truly one of Sony's best receivers of all time. It may not be pretty on the outside but the inside is outstanding. The sound it produces is very true. If you are looking for a true home theater system, you can't go wrong for the money on this one.
