Comments about Technical Pro RX-B113 - 1500 Watt Digital Home Receiver - Black:

I bought this product so that I would have a receiver for mobile DJing. The unit is surprisingly powerful and although I thought the 1500w claim was rubbish but the price was right and it turns out it does output quite a lot of sound(easily what you expect from 1500w). The unit will take extreme abuse and still run and it will runs for hours on end while being taxed without complaint.

You will want to use shielded quality cabling from the source to the receiver and also to the speakers to reduce some of the noise. But for DJing this isn't so bad because the noise isn't noticeable once the music is playing.

Although some people seem to find the volume knob problematic once you hook it up and need it to go loud you will be happy you can slowly turn it up instead of taking it to 10; I'm glad I didn't blow the windows off my house.

10 band EQ works well for me. Ive also seen a lot of complaints about Technical Pro's lighted equipment being too bright... In a dark club believe me its a life saver when each of the 10 band EQ sliders have a light.

The Mic inputs work and sound clear although I don't really make use of them, the FM tuner also works(again I don't use it). One of my biggest complaints about the unit is that it filters out the lows on the Surround L/R channels and I'm pretty sure the Center as well so all your bass has to come from the front 2 channels(banana plugs) but you wont be disappointed it has enough power...

I wouldn't buy this for a home(too bright and too noisy for a home receiver) but if you have a use more akin to mine believe me its well worth it especially at this price.

Comments about Technical Pro RX-B113 - 1500 Watt Digital Home Receiver - Black:

I was happy to see this unit was NOT built in China. The components are mostly all discreet and appear to be built for durability. It uses 4 amplifier I.C.'s on a large heat sink. The sound appears to be pretty clean despite no specifications printed even in the user manual. The only gripes I really have is the thing has the worst volume knob I have ever seen. It has detent-stops but goes around 360 degrees and requires several full rotations to increase or decrease volume even a small amount. The remote control is really the best way to control the volume in a hurry. The florescent display is pretty much useless too. It does not really represent the actual frequency levels, e.g.. pure bass notes with no treble will still look like a full spectrum pulse on the display. Other than those few picky items this is a serious amp that appears to be built for long term use when lots of power is needed. It also runs very cool thanks to the fan. I would recommend it to anyone needing power for musicial playback.

Comments about Technical Pro RX-B113 - 1500 Watt Digital Home Receiver - Black:

I bought this cause it was a reasonable price receiver .
it has some good functions for what it was made for ...BUT it does not make music sound like MUSIC because it lacks many of the filtering ,noise reduction etc that you usually find in names like well i am not suppose to use their names etc....
but it is a good receiver for what the main reason it was made for
pro audio and dj sound.

great power for the price
