I was still using a Sansui stereo receiver I bought in 1983, and wanted to replace it with current technology. I have a CD player and a DVR, two large Yamaha speakers and a 27" Sharp TV. This new system obviously filled in beautifully for my old receiver, but has opened my eyes to the possibilities of a home theater system...which I'll get, bit by bit...but in the meantime, I'm enjoying-for the first time- DVD sound emanating from my Yamaha speakers instead of the small TV speakers. I'm very impressed with it!

I use this system for my apartment in NYC. I have two large front speakers and the rest of the speakers are small. I have a good sized sub. LOVE running all my peripherals through the HDMI on this receiver. So great.
