Comments about Yamaha RXV665 7.2 HDMI Channel Receiver:

The unit meets my needs but I'm disappointed with how slow it is to switch TV functions (e.g. while watching TV, show me the guide or show me the recordings I have on my digital video recorder--DVR), sometimes it just seems to loose the connection with the DVR and I have to turn off the unit and turn it back on. I'm also disappointed that the display lighting is so dim and cannot be adjusted. There are many functions and, as a result, the remote control can be confusing and difficult to work. I needed multi zone capability and this unit meets that need.

using recvr.with blu ray plr.and 46" samsung led t v 8000 series. really easy to hook up. i really liked the auto spkr. set up function!! recvr.replaced my old stereo recvr. which had A TON or eq setups to choose from. all this recvr. has is bass and trebl. maybe i should have gone to higher model with more tone settings.. but sound is still very good unit..

Comments about Yamaha RXV665 7.2 HDMI Channel Receiver:

I blended JBL 36, Baby Advent II, Polk Studio monitor/center/subwoofer speakers with a basic computer (Radeon 4650 Vid Card), 15 year old Panasonic DVD player and a Cox Cable Box. The sound in my 20 by 28 foot family room is "Good" but I'm not an audiophile. I didn't find the supplied manual very helpful, but was able to google what I needed.

I picked this receiver as it would also upconvert the 480 format of the DVD and Cox converter. Looks good w/ Magnavox 43MF531D monitor.
