This speaker makes a great bedroom alarm. It sounds really nice for a small system. Bass is good at "0" setting with Trebile at "7" for best all around sound when playing loud. I use this in our kitchen/living room area and sometimes on the back patio. More bass than the Bose sounddock. The kicker ikick350 is louder, I think the DUO has more of a uniform and full sound.

The remote isn't so great. Not sure who would use the magnet on the back. It's small and difficult to use by touch in the dark. It would be nice if the ipod track and artist information was visible on the alarm clock screen so you could control your music with the remote.
The sound is great. I wish the alarm could be set to something other than the last played radio station or ipod track. The snooze feature is nice.
Overall, pretty good, not sure if I would pay nearly $200 for it though.

Have a few other means to listen to iPod Touch (Altec Lansing T612, a few portable means) and this is far superior both in sound and versatility. Sound is excellent and I particularly like the radio combination.

I bought this unit initially as a IPhone player but soon realized it was an excellent FM receiver in its own right. The tuner, amplifier and speaker combination make it a fabulous table top unit.
