Comments about Yamaha CDRHD1500 HDD + CD-R/RW Digital Audio Recorder (Black):

At first I did not like it very much when I found out you could not record direct to CDR.You have to record to the hard drive then burn to CDR. I then recorded my first LP from 1965.I listened to the LP as I recorded it.Then I played it back off the hard drive, wow was i blown away. The difference in the sound was amazing it was so muck better I could not believe it was from the LP.Then I found this other feature when you burn to disc their is a master disc button than makes it sound even better when you burn it to disc.It takes more space for an 80 minute CDR you will only have 68 minutes. Then you have a CD you swear some studio spent all this money remastering.I'm really glad I went the extra mile and bought this machine. So glad I will be redoing some of the ones I did on my old machine.

Comments about Yamaha CDRHD1500 HDD + CD-R/RW Digital Audio Recorder (Black):

At this point I am still confused about the operation. I continue to wrestle with the instructions that are convoluted. Hopefully with more effort, I will get the hang of it.
Meanwhile, the sound produed by CDs played and that recorded onto the HD are good. I have yet to be able to dupe a CD or record from the HD.
But I think that is about learning curve.

Yamaha CDR-HD-1500
By grasshopperVerified Purchaser from arizona on 1/27/2009
Pros:
Fast, Good Quality Duplicates, No compression
Cons:
Track titling a pain
Best Uses:
Audiophiles, Basic Systems, Great mega changer
Describe Yourself:
Tech Savvy
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Yamaha CDRHD1500 HDD + CD-R/RW Digital Audio Recorder (Black):

I was looking for an alternative to a mega changer
I do not like the sound Quality of compressed music.I-pod dock on my home stereo was not an option. This unit can hold over 400 cd's in an
un-compressed format. It makes very high quality CD copys from the hard drive. The only drawback to this unit is the titling of cd's and tracks.Must be done manually.
Overall very good sound quality. The HD drive is
very FAST and quiet.
