What a difference in noise levels - we are going on a trip soon so I bought one for my spouse who suffers from a variety of ailments so they could avoid noise related problems on the planes. Well I just got done using it while I was asleep to cut out the annoying noises - WITHOUT it being attached to anything. Terrific. If you have the TV on you can still hear it pretty well, but in any event the fan is gone, the a/c is much quieter, did my spouse snore? I don't know - I didn't hear it though because I was sleepin! I just bought one for myself, not only for these reasons but just in case there's construction next door on the trip.

Could be a 5, Sounds great!

Cons:

Battery compartment, But won't fall off, It is a tad tight

Others may justifiably give this product a 5. I would prefer a different battery/electronics housing location but that seems to be a limitation of NCs in general. It is a great sounding set and wearable for a long spell. Best price was here at Abe's. [...]
