I listen to audio books constantly and go thru headsets quite often (wires separate internally at the strain relief; wire insulation deteriorates where it contact skin; ect...). I have used these headsets for three years now and I have had them fail. But Shure warrants these for 2 years so I just send them back with a copy of the reciept and Shure sends new ones. I only bought these because my warranty had run out and I needed a fresh reciept for the next 2 years.
The noise isolating effect is great for use mowing the lawn and airline travel.
