All around just a great headphone and you cannot beat the price. I have used everything from M-Audio to Westone and I believe these have to be my favorite. I use custom molds so I can't speak much to the fit but the sound quality is superb.

Comments about SHURE SCL4K Sound Isolating Earphones - Black:

I got these because I needed IEMs for playing live. They have been really great. They feel and look solid, and have amazing sound quality to boot. I also use them for practicing guitar while I'm by myself. It's one thing to use monitors hooked up to an interface, but its a whole different world when you can't hear anything other than the sound of your guitar.

They come with a handy package of extra sleeves, foam and rubber. I use the triple flange because it gets rid of ALL noise. The foamy ones are nice too though, and super comfortable. It definitely takes getting used to, though, trying to find the right angle to put them in and how far, etc.

All in all, definitely worth it. Great low end response and clarity in the highs, nothing less from Shure, right?

Comments about SHURE SCL4K Sound Isolating Earphones - Black:

This is my fourth pair of Shure in-ear-monitors I've bought. I started with the e2c and found the sound great but was too big for my ears and the frame kept touching my ear cartilage which got irritating after a while. I then tried the e4c and found the much smaller size was perfect for me, and the sound was much better as well. I'm clumsy so I easily lose my gear and this is the third pair of the e4c's I'm buying (the SCL4 is identical to the e4c). Abe's has unbelievable prices for this model and makes it totally worth getting this rather than the lower models. Highly recommended. If you haven't used in-ear-monitors before there will be some discomfort and getting used to no matter what brand or model you choose in the beginning. Once you get used to them you will realize that getting the SCL4 at Abe's is the best choice you can make.

Comments about SHURE SCL4K Sound Isolating Earphones - Black:

By in large they fall short of their reviews and my expectations. My ears are definitely spoiled in having a high-end audiophile system at home, and I realize the limitations of ear-bud amplifiers. They replicated the sound much better off of my computer than my ipod. In general, separation of instruments is decent (the strongest aspect); soundstage - decent... the most disappointing aspect is that the playback is edgy - at times harsh/hard - and imaging thin. I had hoped for a richer more full bodied analogue playback vs. the edgy digi sound. In the end, they are definitely an upgrade from the standard iPod earphones, and the way to go with them is specifically for traveling and convenience use.

Comments about SHURE SCL4K Sound Isolating Earphones - Black:

For the quality of these headphones you can't beat the SCL-4. As long as you get a good fit (the yellow foam earplugs work the best) sound quality is amazing with good bass return. Whenever I use these I'm shocked at how much sound is actually isolated. Perfect for blocking out unwanted ambient noise (like crying babies on airplanes). Highly recommend them.
