At the top end of the Sony professional headphone series, these offer smoother high frequency response than the venerable Sony MDR-7506 and MDR-V6 models. Improved drivers are installed in what appears to be identical or very similar headgear as Sony consumer MDR-V600 phones. The large ear cups provide greater comfort and improved isolation than the MDR-7506.
