Apparently Sony's method of noise cancellation is to create a loud hiss that prevents you from hearing anything at all including the music you want to listen to. Turn off the noise canceling option and they were no better then the ear phones you might buy at the local dollar store. These things were complete junk. And after 3 months the right ear bud went dead. Do not buy !!!
