Comments about Denon AVR1910 7.1 CH A/V Home Theater Multi-Source/Multi-Zone Receiver:
Instructions for connecting equipment were easy to follow, but making everything work as a "system" was not explained. Instructions for options were very technical and not easy to understand. No technical support phone number was provided for questions. The remote is confusing at best, especially the various switches for controlling the equipment attached. It's a great piece of equipment, but not for an armature.

Where to start...
Well the price was right and I was told that Denon makes a great receiver so I thought what the heck, let's take the plunge so I dove in. When I got it I was amazed how horrible the remote was. It's really antiquated and not worth a tinkers darn IMO. Good thing I only use it for volume and to change HDMI inputs. I plan to replace it with a programable remote in the future. (It's really bad people)
I was really disappointed when I had and issue with the receiver. I couldn't get the onscreen display to show up when connected to the TV/SAT HDMI input so I thought; "well I got taken on this one." I did get a hold of Denon who told me how to reset the whole unit back to factory specs and start again. Thankfully this solved the problem and I haven't had it happen again. I think my problem is I am comparing this to a Pioneer Elite A/V receiver which IMO is one of the best out there, but much more expensive than Denon.
I will say that the nice thing about this receiver is the fact that it's small enough to fit into a normal A/V cabinet. It's dimensions are nearly half what my Elite are which make it look cheap IMO but make it nice if you're mounting in a cabinet. (I did not)
I have all my equipment in the basement with one HDMI run up to the TV mounted on the wall upstairs. This receiver works very well for my application. HDMI switching is great albeit slow sometimes to switch and the sound is about average maybe slightly better. Not amazing but it's good.
The Denon Audyssey setup works pretty well. It's about the same as any other unit I've used and I believe it was pretty accurate overall. Again the only issue is using the antiquated looking on screen display. It works but it's not overly awe inspiring... lol
Overall I would recommend this to someone as long as they understood it did nothing exceptionally well. It does its intended job and works as stated but it isn't an amazing receiver.
IMO I got what I paid for and thats all I can really ever hope for.
Cheers!
