Comments about Yamaha MCR-730 Micro Component System - Black:

This is a nice little system and does everything I expected. The sound is bigger and better than I anticipated -- the bass is fuller and deeper than I would have anticipated given the small speakers. The low end is a tiny bit "boxy" and the high end could be a tiny bit crisper, but I'd underscore tiny in both cases. I listen flat and like the sound. Power is pretty good for me, though I'm not trying to rattle the windows. One big consideration which is not clear from the description: Some audio controls are on-screen and therefore require the unit to be connected to a TV. Example: you need to have the unit connected to a TV to select shuffle/random mode for a CD. I also haven't been able to get the system to recognize my Sansa MP3 player, though the documentation is clear that some MP3 players might not work (I did get a regular USB stick to work.)
