Comments about ASUS U35JC-A1 13.3" Notebook - Silver:

I'm a phd student. I tote this computer back and forth from work/school and to conferences. At home I use it to stream video on the web and edit graphics (but no gaming so far). It performs flawlessly. It's the perfect mix of mobility and performance for my needs, and I think this particular combination can fit a very broad range of needs outside of my own. The build quality is simply fantastic. The shortcut keys are very well thought out, particularly the dedicated power profile switcher. I got nearly ten hours of battery life out of this thing while taking notes at a conference one day. On the minor downside, the screen does have a noticeable vertical sweet spot, but it's not distracting. The colors remain vibrant and true from a variety of angles. Some process is making startup annoyingly slow. I'm still trying to zero in on it. In addition to this machine I was considering the Toshiba Satellite R705-P25. I chose this one because the Toshiba felt like it would break if I sneezed on it. Bottom line: if you want a well-balanced mobile laptop that can perform most multimedia tasks and won't break your bank, buy this one.
