1) The software is capricious: Sometimes it would'nt even start or it would stop responding (freeze)in the middle of a session. The only recourse is to reboot the computer. Even then it wouldn't often help.
2) The process is quite slow and if you have many negatives/slides it takes "forever."
3) when it works, though, I am staisfied.
4) Email to a support technician was answred once, but a further request was never answewred.
5) A longer negative frame holder would help in accomodating longer film strips. An automatic feeder would be even better!

Unfortunately I ended up returning this product. The product arrived in great shape and the software was easy to use, no glitches. However, the resolution of the scanned images was not as clear as I had hoped. The color was also off (faces looked like Casper The Ghost). The troubleshooting guide said this might have been caused by computer settings, but didn't suggest how to change this. I am going to keep looking for similar products...

Fast and Cheap. The one single thing lacking on this scanner is a manual exposure control. Any slide with allot of contrast in it will end up overexposed beyond repair. Why would that control be so hard when all of the other features are so cool. Almost, but not quite.

It's compact, and looks simple to use. The result is poor scan depth, and no adjustments, as nearly all other scanners have.
