This is a great item for anyone who wants to convert their tapes and records to CD or MP3. The iKey "Plus" allows you to adjust the input level while using an LED meter and headphones. It is worth paying the extra $100 for the plus instead of the old model. It works great with my 1GB Lexar Firefly Jump Drive. I record one side at a time and use Sony Sound Forge to cut up the tracks.
I couldn't tell you how it performs when hooked to an Ipod, I use a Sandisk MP3 player and used the money I saved to purchase the iKey Plus.

I've had several computer crashes lately and ended up with no access to my usual cubase setup or any other input - tried a lexicon usb i/o and had major compatability problems. had a bunch of tracks on tape and needed to get the mix from my console to my computer for mp3 posting and cd burning. this thing makes it simple. Also for direct 2 track recording, just plug in my preamp and one flash drive will record a whole night. Sound is fine - not stellar, but perferctly adequate for these purposes. a great tool!
