More capability than some of the[$] mixers on the market. I would have liked to see it being able to midi map to Serato like the Rane ttm57 mixer. Midi sockets should be able to work with time-code dj software using the M-Audio Midisport UNO. Great minds came together at Behringer to produce the DDM4000. Behringer will be around for a long time to come while other manufacturers may not as they are a respite for the dj and musicians offering quality while being reasonable or affordable.

Formidable piece of electrical equipment for dj applications and Behringer is a respite for the dj and musicians from overpriced comparable equipment; not only with this item but all items they offer , watch-out Rane, Pioneer, Denon, Mackie and Allen and Heath. Some pieces of equipment go well with other pieces of equipment in a sound system some are not a good match with others. The DDM4000 works well on a dj system not on a home system.Tone control ie. bass, mid and trebble controls is the key in any system and I have found that the Gemini PA-7000 has the best tone control for the home system. Overall the ddm4000 is remarkable and nothing short of excellent.

I am surprised by how good this mixer is. Its not the end all be all but its perfect for someone who doesn't want to spend a lot of money and still have things like effects, 4 channels and midi.

This Unit is an absolute Bang for the buck! I am currently using this with 2 Stanton T.120C, and SSL. It works flawlessly, just like my Pioneer DJM800 but saved me hundreds of $$$. I use this kit for my home setup. The only glitch I feel is, the quality of the knobs could have been better, because if you apply too much pressure, you may break them. It has bpm synched built in sampler, effects, and acts as a Midi controller to control my serato scratch live and sure Does sound great. I don't have to go near my PC as often, which is good! [...] Regardless of the minor glitches I mentioned, the knobs and the midi control section, I think I would buy this product again and even recommend it to others. If you're a bedroom dj or a beginner, and want a lot of options for less money, get this baby..and rock it On!

So far this mixer blows away a lot of big brand name mixers in the DJ industry. You can load your own setting at any time and there is a cool feature in the Crossfader setting when you switch from KILL to X-OVER. Also, this mixer let you change the cut off frequency of the LOW and HIGH, the center frequency and the Q factor of the MID in the Channel Set Up. You Go Behringer all the Way!!!

I upgraded to this DDM4000 after finding myself limited with my old denon 2 channel mixer and I didn't want to spend the extra money on a pioneer. I just mix at home for fun and Id say this unit is great for that.. The built in sampler is nice and the effects sound decent. Theres a lot of flexibility with this mixer for different setups which are normally found in 900$+ models. I would probably not feel comfortable with using this in a club with multiple guys because the knobs and faders do feel cheesy (they are plastic and not coated). If your not doing serious gigs id say A+ on features for the money.

This is absolutely the best bang for the buck on the market right now. The DDM-4000 produces some great sound, has many many cool features, and at a great price. My only complains would be a poorly written manual, and midi functions could be more user friendly. The midi buttons are spit into 8 Zones, and if you want to uses any one button you must disable the whole zone. But these complaints are so minor, and would never stop me from buying this mixer again.Abe of Maine thanks for the[...] super great price.

In all honesty, I've only used this a few times since I've purchased it. Works great for my applications but I'm hesitant in one area. I was going to use another one as a club install (price was right with a ton of options), but I thought better of it because; if your not familiar with how this mixer functions and all it's functions, you may get a bit lost. Unless you've read the manual and/or were able to get aquainted with it's selections, functions and assignments; you may get a little lost and frustrated. This is not good when you have other DJ's coming on for the night and can't immediately discern it's gazillion options nor have the time to figure it out. Just the crossfader alone. One must activate it by pushing a button "CF" everytime it powers up. There are no toggles nor memory to set or hold it in a default in house application. I believe it defaults to factory set up. Now I've yet to get into programming the unit to remember specific saved settings. Maybe this would solve some of the problems...but for individual DJ's to do this is just plain inpractical. Even the line and phono selectors are not toggles but button selectors that default everytime it powers up.
However, I will say; for the price and the functions and if it proves to be sturdy (which many of the knobs seem not to be)...you get alot of bang for your buck. It can do alot...I can just imagine. I just wouldn't want to roll up on this mixer for the first time at a club without it being familiar with it. Also, with the flimsier knobs (compared to other more expensive mixers), I don't have much confidence that it could take the abuse of a high traffic club or bar install. I would keep it for personal use and get the most out of it by the money you save and it's functions. Just don't expect it to taket the abuse a Rane mixer could take...etc.
I still think it was worth purchasing. I'm happy with it for my own personal applications.
