Comments about Electro-Voice RE16 Broad Cast Microphone:
This mic has a studio timbre and is appropriate for artists who are not dancing around the stage because of the mic's sensitivity to handling sound. Can you identify the handling noise in this Utube selection? (xVHrMNjO0Uo ...copy/paste in Utube searchbox)On the other hand, can the usual handheld approach this quality?

Comments about Electro-Voice RE16 Broad Cast Microphone:
Once the artist is taught to watch the handling and singing across the mic rather than straight into it, this is the most natural and present mics on the market. , Would wish for a broader, tapered shank and within that....address the handling noise sensitivity with sorbothane or something. Hear it for yourself ![@]

Comments about Electro-Voice RE16 Broad Cast Microphone:
Provided the artist is warned that close-talking directly into the top can cause a "pop" and that handling noise is higher than the normal club mic, this dynamic captures the clear timbre of the singer's voice. Boomy, muddy proximity effect is all but eliminated.
This product really should be classified under the Pro Audio Equipment > Dynamic Microphones instead of "DJ equipment". This mic is not going to be a DJ's friend...it doesn't rattle the walls and bottom out the woofers like they want. This would be more of a concert mic.

Comments about Electro-Voice RE16 Broad Cast Microphone:
I used this mic on live vocals. Once the artist is aware of the possible handling noise and learns to sing at a 45 degree angle to the mic, it is the clearest mic I could find for this purpose. Proximity effect is almost nil and it can take very high SPL levels and requires very little if any EQ. It is especially suited for live recording of the performance having a pretty effective built-in pop filter.
