Comments about Sony BDP-S560 Blu-Ray Disc DVD Player:

Bought this player based on a review that it can handle any DVD thrown at it. My existing player couldn't handle anything better than DVD-R. So far so good.

Standard DVD's look and sound excellent. Haven't tried a blu-ray dvd yet.

I like the wireless feature to upgrade the firmware. There are many features I haven't tried, but looking forward to it.

Only gripe so far, it loads slow.

Comments about Sony BDP-S560 Blu-Ray Disc DVD Player:

Home theater use. I thought it would be great that it had wireless internet connection -- not to mention that SONY Customer Support PreSales *led me to believe* -- that with their HiDef LCDTV SONY Bravia KDL-46W5100 HDTV 46" 120Hz Refresh rate with hardwire internet connection -- that their own TV would hook up to their own Blu-Ray player -- which would then hookup wirelessly to my hi-speed DSL internet connection -- which SONY's Technical Support *after-the-sale* later told me it "absolutely will not" -- I was very, very disappointed, being that was a *key reason* I made the decision to purchase those very products from SONY. 1-You have to *separately* purchase a "bridge" to get their HDTV to connect wirelessly to your internet, and 2-After two months I have found absolutely ZERO use and benefit for the "BD" function which is supposed to let you "chat live with directors" etc. etc. etc. I think that when I do get the extra money to purchase the bridge for the HDTV that its connectability to Netflix, [...], & YouTube will be worth it. But for SONY PreSales Customer Support to tell you "Buy the SONY BDP-S560 Blu-Ray Disc DVD Player which is wireless -- and with the SONY Bravia KDL-46W5100 HDTV -- you won't have to purchase any extra bridges, routers, etc. -- that is the way to go!" -- that was really a downer *after-the-fact* for SONY Technical Support to tell you "absolutely" that you can *not* hook up your SONY Bravia HDTV through your wireless SONY Blu-Ray player!!!!! Bummer!!!!!

Comments about Sony BDP-S560 Blu-Ray Disc DVD Player:

Sony's BDP-S560 Blu-Ray Disc DVD Player has all the bells and whistles I needed in a Blu ray player, with the main feature being WiFi. It was easily integrated into my WiFi network...it practically set itself up. No more downloading firmware updates on the web. This is my main Blu-ray player and has functioned flawlessly. A great value at only [$].

Comments about Sony BDP-S560 Blu-Ray Disc DVD Player:

I would have given this player 5 stars if it hadn't been for the remote not having an open/close button. That's annoying when you're used to having one. In fact the remote stinks altogether. It's ugly and not very modern looking. Disappointing for Sony.

If you can get passed the awful remote the player is great. Easy set up and use. Uses your wifi to upload features. There are also a ton of other features I haven't even tried yet.

Comments about Sony BDP-S560 Blu-Ray Disc DVD Player:

DVD upscale is very good. Menu on this player is cosmetically appealing and functional. Blu-Ray loading is pretty quick.

Downfall for this unit is that this does not have the feature of resume play when you remove the disc. Also, when you press Stop...you cannot continue from last position of the movie...you have to start from beginning. My DVP NS710H (was around $70) has the multiple disc resume play function.

If this player had the resume play, I would have given this 5 stars.
