Comments about PIONEER BDP51FD - Blu-ray DVD Player:

I use this with my optima projector and it works great. This BD-player is able to give me the deep blacks and the sharp whites that i couldn't get out of the upconverting player I had before. It does take a little long to get warmed up so you can load a disk but it is something I can get used to. This also had all of the connections I could want, including optical audio out, that some players don't have. All in all I am happy with this player.

Unless you REALLY need to have Sony this BD player is THE one to buy. Just by the looks it blows away the sony player either 300/500. Quality is of typical blu-ray quality, easy to use. Only if they can improve the load time!!

Comments about PIONEER BDP51FD - Blu-ray DVD Player:

I purchased this unit because of the Wolfson Dacs and the color up conversion and was not disappointed. This unit replaced a Samsung BDP1400
which was a good performer. This unit has an extremely high quality picture and the sound is like a high end audio system. You can't go wrong with this unit!

Comments about PIONEER BDP51FD - Blu-ray DVD Player:

This was my first purchase of a blu-ray player, and will probably be my last. Picture quality and sound are both excellent. My Yamaha reciever did not have HDMI connections so I needed a blu-ray player that worked best with standard audio/video cables. Don't use fiber optics for sound if your in the same situation, sound will not be as good! I've used pioneer before, and once again it has performed well. Abes' of Maine price beats any other seller, don't look any place else. My son has the Sony PS and the Pioneer has better sound and picture, and costs about the same!

Picture and sound quality features are worth the wait on the slow load time which is quite noticable. The price from Abe's was right and caused me to by Pioneer over Panasonic.

I connected this player to my 50" plasma, replacing a pioneer dvdr with an analog tuner which was soon to be outdated. I was very pleased with how easy the setup was and simple it was to flash the firmware update. Overall I don't have one complaint with the product[...]
