Based on my own research and the advice from sellers, I went with this Sony BDPS550 modle. Load time is longer than a DVD but nothing that upsets me. Image and sound are super quality...almost like being there....especially through my Onkyo home theater.
I had heard horror stories about Blu-Ray players not working after firmware updates so I decided to leave the firmware updates alone..."if it ain't broke, don't fix it".
You can go with this and not be sorry.
