Comments about Nikon GP-1 GPS Unit for D90/D300/D700/D300S:

This is my first separate GPS unit for camera body. Wish it were inside the body as it can be sometimes coumbersome to carry camera aruond with GP-1 attached on the top or even on the shoulder. But it works as it is said to do. Some people complains about the hard time it acquires signal, but when you go out to the suburb where no tall buildings, I have encountered no problems. Even in the city, it works pretty well - I am talking about the middle of Manhattan where those tall buildings are expected to block the signal - but it works although it may a bit longer than out in the field to acquire the initial signal. Bottom line - it works as it is expected to and update is quick when you move around and when you half press the shutter. Very quick update is possible and it will show you the trail you take. Fun to have around.
