First off Abes of Maine is a great company to do business with. They do what they say they will do and they don't pull bait and switch. So if you are shopping around online....you've come to the right place.
The D-90's photo's are beautiful & blow up well. I called & changed my order at the last minute to the 70-300mm VR lens because my friends 55-200mm just didn't quite work well for photographing birds in flight (all other photos for his 55-200 are beautiful) With the upgraded lens I got wonderful shots of birds in flight and other wildlife in yellowstone last week. The Camera took beautiful low light sunrise & sunset pics.
I like that this camera has many similar setting that my D-300 has. I actually bought this set so I didn't have to keep changing out big lens to small for various kinds of photos. This camera even with the 70-300 lens is fairly light weight and easy to handle. Settings can be set to Auto settings or you can choose manual. It will work well when I go horseback riding and don't want to figure out how to pack my larger equipment.
I like it so well I'm considering purchasing another set in the spring for my daughters graduation present.

I'm still learning how to use all the "bells and whistles" that come with the D-90 but even the basics of this camera deliver excellent results.

I am still learning all the features of this camera but have been very pleased with the quality of the camera and the photos taken so far. For the amateur photographer, the number of features can be a little intimidating but with practice and keeping the instruction handbook available, I am getting more comfortable with all the settings. I have since determined that I needed a better zoom lens than the 18-135mm and ordered another lens.

Nobody in my Photography class comes close in taking pictures. The Camera takes Superior Pictures no matter who uses it, or how much experience or knowledge that you have in the Picture taking world.

I have been the owner of a Nikon D70 SLR for 4 years. After reading about the D90 and the many improvements, I decided to purchase one. I have been pleased well beyond my expectations. First, the 12.3-megapixel image quality and the cinema 24fps D-Movie mode made the decision easy. I have used the D-movie mode several times and the quality is unbelievable when using the Vibration Reduction lens (video is smooth). I invested in the SB400 flash and find that to be a good investment also. The photo quality is awesome and the fact that the sensor is self-cleaning is equally a big plus. Because of the low noise of the sensor, I intend to use the camera for some astrophotography. You can't go wrong with this camera. Very ergonomic and technically easy to use. I like the large display and one-button live view (great for studio or group photos).

[...] I quickly opened up the packaging, charged the battery for an hour, then headed to Washington, DC to take photos of the family next to the National Christmas Tree. I was immediately impressed by how easy the camera was to use, not to mention the strength of the built-in flash. I took nearly 300 photos on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, including both indoors and outdoors under various light conditions and the D90 did not disappoint. We just returned from a week in Mexico, where I took over 400 photos, and again, the photos turned out great under all conditions - on the beach, at night, in the bright sun, and next to the pool.I was seriously considering the Nikon D80 before taking the plunge on the D90 and am glad I spent the extra money. I suspect you will be too!
