I traded up to the t2i from a 4/3 Mount Olympus and am very pleased. The larger sensor makes a big difference. I have been using the video functions even with family stuff more than I thought I would despite lack of Autofocus during video shooting. With a smaller aperture and a higher ISO, I'm able to do a decent job of guestimating focus with that larger Depth of Field.
The buttons on the camera body are not so much fun. It would have been great if the battery was the same as that used by either the 7D or the G9, which I also own.
But the menus are pretty easy.
But the buttons are haphazard and non-intuitive.
But at this price and body-size, it's small price.And learning to use it just means shooting more with it and that's a real treat anyway.

Used Canon all my life but switched to Nikon and just couldn't get used to it, gave up the Nikon and got the T2i and love it. Great camera with a lot of features but easy to use.

I am just learning all the features of this camera. Already have taken advantage of the higher ISO options for shooting pictures of marching band at night. I have not been overwhelmed by the video aspects of the camera, not being able to zoom or use autofocus are difficult restrictions to ignore. It is a huge improvement over my old XT and cost less than that camera did.

Great live view feature and large crisp LCD screen. Autofocus is much slower though with live view. Also, when shooting video, very difficult to change focus and exposure is fixed. (do not expect it to shoot like a traditional video camera which has continuous exposure and focus).
Finally, not so great but minor is the fact that the control knob does not turn all the way (ie between P and Video mode).

Easy to carry around and it fits my (small) hands better than the 7D or an xxD series.
IQ is equal to the 7D but noise creeps in at 800 ISO and gets pretty ugly after that.
All in all it's a good camera and an excellent value for the dollar.

So far I've been very impressed with the ease of use and quality of output from my first foray into DSLR cameras.
I wish the burst mode was slightly quicker, and there was geotagging enabled on shots.
With a beefy lens and a few key extras I think this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship

compact and powerful. I've used to own 30d and decided to switch to this camera due to size and weight. I'm glad that I've made the change - now I carry DSLR more than I used to.
video mode is great. I own a VIXIA HF100, but this camera and 15-55 f28 efs blows the quality of the video. only drawback is slow focus.

I purchased this camera specifically for its video capabilities and so far I am very satisfied with it in that regard. I am a freelance videographer and wanted to add an HDSLR camera to my arsenal. While they won't replace a pro level camcorder due to their current limitations, they are capable of creating amazing footage and Canon offers a great selection of lenses. My only gripes are; 1. onboard audio sucks, even with a high quality external microphone, due to the unchangeable automatic gain which creates an audible hiss, 2. Autofocus will not work in video mode and it's hard focusing manually using the small LCD. Other than that, I'm very happy to save the $ over a 7D.

I use this camera for wildlife work..works perfectly with high ISOs and shutter speeds....virtually no noise..Nearly immediate start-up time a plus.Camera is better than I expected,and I expected a lot from Canon.

This was my first SLR camera and I purchased it because of its video capability. I am new to photography and I have found this camera to be very easy to use. I have never taken this many pictures and had so much fun. I bought the body only with a sigma 18-250 lens with image stabilization. Never have to change lenses and take professional looking pictures. Just put it on the green square and shoot.

I use the product for mainly filming close-ups of flowers. I find the auto focus difficult to use for this and usually revert to manual.
Action shots that I've taken with my grand kids have come out extremely well.

This camera takes stellar images and the video is awesome too. I have not used the kit lens so I cannot rate that, but I have the tamron 17-50 vc which looks awesome with this camera.

I use my canon t2i to take pictures of my family. My daughters are both passionate about taekwondo. The lighting at their school is horrible: red reflected from the mat, fluorescent lights, mirrors, and big windows to let in outside light. The t2i allows me to get great action shots with good color balance as well.
I used to have a Minolta Maxxum 5 film SLR that I loved, but I was also limited by costs for film, developing, and prints. Even so, I managed to learn a fair amount of photography.
For me the best thing may be that in order to get the most out of the Canon t2i there's an awful lot of photography to learn: lighting, color balance, composition as well as the technical elements of depth of field, when to use flash & when not to.
Over all the Canon t2i is a dream to use.
