I just started using the camera so haven't had a chance to dig deep, but love the lcd screen, dark shots, and basically everything. I need to read the manual and explore all uses since I have a child and have used it mainly to shoot portraits of him.

I researched and read expert and consumer reviews for over a year before settling on this camera. For the money, I don't think it can be beaten. I recommended it to my daughter who bought it before I did! The single most important criterion in buying a camera for me is that it creates excellent images. Consumer Report's article said that it was the only DSLR they reviewed which produced excellent images. It is pretty easy to use but I'm not that adept with the manual modes yet.
I bought a Sigma 18-250mm lens so I only have to carry one lens....makes a great combination (both from Abe's of Maine). I think you will love this camera.

The camera is easy to use, the live view and Auto shut off of the LCD are great features. So far no problems with the camera at all. Night shots are coming out very well with a tripod. Perfect for a photo enthusiast.

I am a fine artist and paint from my photos. This camera gives me all the info I need to produce some wonderful artwork. so far it's easy to use but I haven't tried anything too difficult yet. It was difficult to focus in low light but I think I've found the solution.

Great pictures in auto mode. The manual modes seem so complex I don't even know where to begin. I'm new to SLRs, so possibly ANY camera would be daunting - but they haven't made it easy.

I like this camera. Weight is nice, lens are light also. Very good quality and some flexibility. Would buy it again in a blink. Rapid shoot mode is a little slow, but otherwise it is a great entry level SLR. I picked up a shoulder camera bag, and it carries four lenses, plus my Sony mini DVD video (Swiss brand at Sams), making it portable and providing everything one needs for travel

I take a great variety of pictures, some with marginal light conditions. This camera lets you do that. Changing the settings is easy, and the telephoto lens (75-300) with IS works just beautifully, partly because the weight of the XSI is minimal. Its own 18-55 lens w/IS is good for many occasions.

I'm a full time freelancer for FilmMagic/WireImage, both divisions of Getty Images. I needed a camera that was light, fast, easy to use (I'm new to digital) and with Canon's electronics. The same electronics found in the Rebel XSi is found in Canon's more expensive advanced pro cameras. If all you care about is the image quality without spending a fortune, the XSi is the right choice. I was ready to purchase the 40D and one of my colleagues who shoots along side me for WireImage, advised me to take a serious look at the new 12 megapixel camera. Once I did my research, I realized that the XSi was the logical choice. My pictures appear in People[@], US Magazine, People Magazine, OK Magazine and in publications all over the world. When I tell my professional friends which camera I use, they can't believe it.

This camera was purchased for my wife who has been learning photography for the past several years. She has taken many hundreds of fine photos and has had an easy and enjoyable time in using the camera and getting excellent results.

I have been a serious photographer for 42 years and she just started in recent years, but both of us really enjoy this camera and its great features. It is very versatile, takes great photos, is very easy to learn to use and easy to use, it is very rugged, and it is very useful for all of our EOS lenses. Coupled with IS lenses, it is a great camera to use either handheld or on a tripod.

I've never used a professional camera. EOS XSI was recommended to me when I was looking for a camera. Since then I've read a few books, tried taking a few pictures. The camera takes great pictures everywhere as is. It's almost impossible to take a bad picture with it. People think I'm a professional because the pics come out perfect. All I did was learn about light and angles.
