I really like this camera. It is easy to figure out and helpful for those who are just starting to learn about proper photography, but still has enough featured to keep even the experienced pleased. I haven't figured out how to get the LCD to display the scene before a picture is taken, so I'm not sure if it does that, or if you just have to look through the viewfinder. A little loud, but not obnoxious. I've played around with different settings, lenses and filters as well and continue to be pleased with my results. No complaints about the focus/depth of field capabilities. Great at eliminating red eye and excellent coloring. My mom loves that it makes the dog's eyes look normal in pictures!

Great camera for introduction into SLR's! Still have alot to learn about the camera but I LOVE IT! Got the kit that included the bag, cleaning kit, extra battery, and memory card. It was very nice to be able to take the camera out of the box and begin using it! Have now photographed numerous family gatherings and infant niece and nephew... Only issue is making sure it is on the correct setting but that is more of a user issue than camera problem!

I am very happy with this purchase - this is my first SLR and I am very glad I chose the XSI - although there is still much I have to learn, this camera is not difficult to get used to, I like the construction and the way the controls are laid out. So far I have been very happy with the pictures that I have been taking - both with manual focus and auto focus - I have not been having any problems with the autofocus (as I read others have). I am wanting to do more professional photography and this is the perfect camera to "get my feet wet". I couldn't be happier!

I used a film SLR years ago and loved doing it. WIth kids and work, I went to point and shoot, but forgot how much I missed SLR. I got this one for my birthday recently, and I feel "young" and enthused again. Camera is VERY user frienldy and forgiving ! NOw looking to add morelenses and get creative again !

Still getting to know my Rebel but so happy with the results so far! Added the Canon zoom lens 55-250mm and using that for my son's soccer matches. Haven't mastered low light action yet. Natural light sports photos are terrific! Abe's of Maine very helpful in the whole process.

I live in Australia part time and shoot a lot of wildlife and beach scenes. And sell my work to mostly tourists. This camera is fun to shoot, takes amazing pictures, is light weight, and the photos are GREAT quality! For the money you will spend, I highly recommend it. I bought this camera for my wife to replace her Rebel 35mm camera. She has been learning the art of photography for the last few years but the cost of film and developing has been a little expensive for the small percentage of good shots. We picked up an 8 gig memory card and 2 extra batteries and now she can shoot all day long and it doesn't cost any money for bad shots. This camera has some very nice professional features. The picture quality is great. The pre-programmed settings are ok to start with but the advanced manually adjustable modes are where you can adjust this camera for the perfect shot. The TTL metering is a nice feature and it gives consistant results when used properly. The view screen is HUGE! The included lens is a nice general purpose lens. It could be a little better in low light situations where there is movement but for regular indoor lighting and outdoor lighting it performs very well. All in all this is a nice piece of equipment that is well worth the money and you won't grow out of this camera for quite a while. The included imaging software is kinda cool too!

This camera has awesome results. It has the ease of point-and-shoot and also it takes really nice night shots and outdoor photographs. It is the best SLR in the market for its price. The IS on the lens really works and definitely makes a difference. I am really happy with my purchase.
