this camera is a great buy. It is small enough to carry in your pocket, and it takes great photos. I have two very quick children and this camera is fast enough to capture them before they escape. Picture quality is excellent.

I am never without this camera! I have an 8 month old daughter and I use this camera to capture every single new milestone, both with pictures and video. With this camera you get much more than you pay, it's so cheap! My last camera was $500 and the pictures weren't nearly as sharp and bright as this camera. It is very easy to use and has a lot of great features. I highly recommend this product.

I love this camera - the size is great. But like many canons, it lets me use fancier settings, etc. My friend who has a DLR says she doesn't really use her camera that much - probably because it is so big. This camera is great, it might not be DLR, but i can drop it into the smallest purse, or the pocket of my jacket. It is smaller than my smartphone! But it still delivers great quality photos. The only problem I have is that the battery indicator has only 4 levels and we foolishly did not have a second battery during a day of sightseeing. My suggestion - get a second battery and enjoy a great camera!

We were very excited to purchase this camera after reading review after review of it on the internet. We are both avid photographers for over 20 years now and we wanted a nice camera for those quick shots when we didnt want to lug our digital slr equipment with us.As long as there is light on all the subjects in the shot you will do fine with this camera. The shots we took outdoors in full light are wonderful, but when you have a single subject in lower light or indoors the camera really does a horrible job. We will focus on our kids and the camera will almost always use the flash when completely unnecessary making the background black and the picture pretty much worthless. We have tried all three of the focus settings (face, center and ai) with no luck. So far AI at least tries to match up the different areas of the picture, but still does a horrible job. If we could return this camera we would, but for now it's [$]that will sit in our camera bag and rarely be used. [...]this camera just isn't up to par and certainly isn't worth a tenth of what we paid. :(

First off, I am a Canon fan and started out with a Canon Elph S 400 and fell in love with the brand. I also have a SLR 20D and decided to get this camera as a smaller alternative. While it does not even come close to the 20D, which is expected, it does an awesome job and takes great pictures. The brown color is unique and trendy and the camera overall looks awesome. Controls are easy to use and it has several green zone settings so basically anyone can use it.

The only reason why I didn't give it five stars is because it could take better pics in low light (flash is overpowering). In addition, it takes a lot of time between shots when using the flash.

I would highly recommend this camera based on everything it has to offer and decent price.

We just got back from a trip to New Orleans where this was our main camera. I got used to the S1 IS that this replaces and I miss the flip lcd and zoom that it had. however, in all other aspects, the SD1100IS beats it hands down - better pix, better focusing, etc...

We really like the fact that this is small enough for us to put in a pocket or my wife to drop into her purse. This makes it a perfect casual camera for those spontaneous moments. The color selection is pretty nice as well - she loves the brown because it looks more sophisticated than plain black or silver.

The one drawback is that it has a really hard time focusing in low light situations. So much so, that you almost have to hope for the best when taking a picture.

I purchased this p&s for my wife and she really loves it! Easy to use and makes perfectly exposed beautiful images. She uses it mostly for travel.

I bought this camera for a trip to Asia. It was perfect for my trip. It was compact, easy to carry around, took great pictures, and had great battery life!
