I carry this when carrying my D300 is not realistic. I feel nervous about dropping it. The metal,smooth finish is difficult to get a firm hold on. I dropped and dented it the first second that I used it on task.

I recently purchased this camera after I gifted my Canon SD11000IS to a friend. I loved that camera so I decided to go a step higher. The main purpose for this camera is for informal photo opportunities that may arise during my daily life while practicing the skill of photography. I do enjoy the compact size although I wish it was slimmer like the Canon SD11000IS. If you are familiar with point and shoot cameras then setting this one up to a comfort level will not be a problem. I love the face recognition and motion detection feature which makes life so much easier. This camera is costly so I do not recommend it as a first camera for novice photographers. I do recommend it as an upgrade to older models from any other brand of its category.

I ride a motorcycle and have used the camera to take still pics. and video while on the move the end product was beyond belief... if your looking for a point and shoot for action and on the move shots this is the one to get...IMHO

This camera is awesome. Set it to auto and you are all set. Quality is the best I've ever seen. It's very easy to use. I've used other brands before including Sony and Nikon, this by far the best.

Typical Canon quality but the ease of use as no doubt a result of my extended ue of Canon equipment. This camera replaced an sd 500 so the difference was considerabl, but thr pic quality rivals my Canon 40d
