We had a predicassor to this camera which we liked. Our only complaint about that camera is that it only lasted 4 years before the electronics failed. This camera has many more gadgets which make the camera more useful.

I bought a small FujiFilm point and shoot digital camera a few years ago and really liked it. I wanted a decent "step up" camera and wanted to stick with the Fuji brand. This is an EXCELLENT camera! I do a lot of historical research and use my photos in my articles, so I wanted a good camera and this one works perfectly. It also takes sharp macro and supermacro photos, which is great for photographing documents. (Most have to be photographed without the flash, which is no problem for this camera.) I haven't tried all the features yet, as there are a lot, and it can be confusing if you try to do everything this camera can do right off the bat. I am taking my time learning the features, and so far I am very pleased with the macro, supermacro, landscape and rapid settings, as well as auto. I also take a lot of nature photos, especially flowers and the results are gorgeous!! It does use the batteries up pretty quickly, although not nearly as quickly as the little Fuji does. I would recommend buying the rechargeable batteries and charger, but be sure to read how to change the setting on the camera BEFORE you switch from regular batteries to the rechargeables. I also recommend a memory card reader, as it makes the downloading to the computer much simpler. I also recommend a carrying case, as the lens cap does not stay on, so the case can protect the lens and keep it clean.

This camera is a great deal. It takes beautiful closeup pictures of flowers and other things. Some of the indoor photos I have taken when it's dark haven't been the best, but it takes good pictures outdoors. I would reccomend this camera!

I tried to use the continuous shooting to capture award recipients, but each shot was blurred with movement of subject being photographed. I may need some training on that feature.
