Video is excellent compared to other cameras of this type. Easy to use. Lots of manual controls for pictures. Recommended to a friend who bought the next day. I would like to be able to select my own compression, or select none at all, but overall the picture quality is great. Also, would like to be able to select from multiple types of autofocus.

I only had the camera short period of time. It is very easy to use. I take a lot of indoor and outdoor pictures and it has a auto feature. I like that for the best focus. I love the pictures it takes. I use a rechargeable battery which the best way to go with cameras. I have not use the video feature yet. The battery compartment seems on the fragile side as well where you put the memory card. I never had a problem with any Kodak cameras is why I keep buying them I also have recommended them to my family and friends.

WE bought this mostly for the HD video, and that works great (within reason). Good in low light, but the focusing takes some getting used to. The focus is noisy on the videos, and tends to "hunt and peck". The still are adequate at best, but we bought it for the video so that's no big deal.

After much research, I decided on this camera.
I needed a camera to capture my nephew at his
basketball games. Sharp photo images and quick
movements. Capture the 1,000 th point shot,
just had the camera a few days and began using it.
It is a real valued product. It responds well to
my novice photo-taking ability. Pleased with the
clarity of my photos. Many of them will be in our
family albums and given as gifts to relatives.

Too busy taking pictures and videos with my 17 month boy. I love this camera! It takes care of everything the way I wanted. Great picture, video quality. I don't want to carry my SLR anymore, because the size and the stunning results of this camera. I am so glad I bought this camera, specially from Abe’s of Maine. Nobody beat their price.....8:)

I have seen some reviews and feel the need to address some of the negatives-
1. taking pictures doesn't kill the batteries, it is the video clips- but rechargable or those lithium batteries will help A LOT! Don't waste your money on dollar store batteries.
2. Lag Time- you can set the camera to take pictures one right after another- read the instruction manual. (I don't remember how off the top of my head, but it can be done easily)
Overall, I really love this camera. My husband bought me a z1275 last year for Christmas. He broke it by dropping it in the parking lot this year. (Broke the battery door off of it, it cost $48 to send it to Kodak for repairs after the warrantee was up. I am pregnant and didn't have time to wait for it to come back.) I decided to upgrade to the z1285 because of the HD. I also SOLD my video camera, I have never taken more than a few minutes of video on it at a time. So the camera does everything I need it to and fits inside my pocketbook/diaper bag/ back pocket! Who needs a video camera?
I just gave my dx3200 that my husband bought me for college graduation in 2002 to my Mother. I love the products Kodak makes. My husband had one camera that was BLOWN up with a granade while training soldiers to go to Iraq. It worked long enough to get the pictures off of it before it died completely. I think that says a lot for a camera.

I have only had this product for a very short time and have taken less than 100 photos....but now I do not feel bad leaving my Nikon D80 or D300 behind when I have a family get together or just take a few casual photos

The product is great. I am using this product for the first time and i m enjoying a lot clicking photographs of beautiful sceneries, statues and buildings. Its a great experience of using this product.

Only one thing i didnt like in the product is that bettery has very short life and we cant charge it. Now i have to buy new chargable bettery and charger.

But one thing I want to say is that I got digital camera at very very reasonable cost.

I just love the product.

I've used it indoors and outdoors both for video and still shots. It has done an excellent job so far.
I took a picture of my family room while the TV was on. The picture of the program on the TV was almost as good as the TV's picture.

This camera gives a lot of bang for the buck. The pictures are great and it is extremly easy to use. Just keep it away from extreme cold and wet....lol...it's our second one.

I actually have the earlier generation of this camera (Z1275), and I love it so much that I went searching to buy it for my mother as a gift and found the new Z1285.

This newer version is just as wonderful as the old. I'm a professional photographer, and I purchased this camera to take on a vacation to Italy so that I didn't have to haul my SLR around with me. It took FANTASTIC photos that are high enough quality that I've been able to sell some of them.

I love the high resolution and fast capture time, as well as the manual and semi-manual settings. I have recommended this camera to several friends and will continue to do so.

The only con is the video quality, which I wish was a little better, but it definitely wouldn't sway me from purchasing again. Hands down, this camera is the best bang for your buck.

This a really a great camera. Our first one got dropped in water and so I did not hesitate to buy a second one. It is easy to use and pictures/videos are easy to transfer to a computer. Picture quality is amazing.

I had to replace batteries very often (after every 20 to 25 pictures). The shutter did not close halfway, I think that was a manufacturing defect. I returned it after 10 days, got my money back. The size is little bulky, I wish it was more slick to fit in pocket comfertably

This is a great camera for day to day pictures. Kids, landscape, whatever, it has the setting you need. You can adjust it mannually or have the camera do it for you. Auto flash, no flash, always flash; close up, still, action; it's all there. My kids love to take (and act for) little video's. The pictures are clear and super easy to download with removable SD card. Invest in good batteries, big memory card, and a carring case. It wont fit in your pants pocket and the body is not a shape that comfortably sits in your hand so its easy to drop. Good luck and happy picture taking.

It is a good cam with great resolution. Battery life is not bad. Easy to use, better than I expected under low light. One of the best machines for this price.

I needed a camera that was very easy to use, yet provide excellent pictures for memories. The video quality is enough for home videos. The features are easy to navigate through, even though most of it was "auto".

I bought it for it's ability to record HD video, it performs well in that area but be sure and get a fast SD card or it will lag, any Sandisk should be ok. (Extreme III works perfectly).
Low light performance was not wonderful, but ok.
My Canon S3 has live metering, meaning the whole screen will darken or lighten according to the light requirements of the scene. This camera does not have that, none may have it but my Canon, I don't know. But I really wish this camera had it! It does have an indicator for this purpose, so it's really no big deal. Overall this is an excellent camera!

After several minor problems, now the camera cannot be powered up. After less than two seconds camera shuts down. Lens is fully extended and cannot retract the lens. Have just contacted Kodak service and I must return for repairs.

This camera is great. It has some issues with the camera suddenly processing as you are trying to take a picture. I have taken pictures inside in almost no lighting at all and outside at long distances.

This being a 12 Megapixel camera with HD video capture is great for someone who wants to take good pictures/video and have editing options. This being my first camera, I would recommend it to anyone just starting out, like myself.
