This is the 3rd L18 I bought (2 blues, 1 red) and it's a great camera! The recent price drops made it even more affordable. The LCD display is also the largest in this price range. I have a Nikon D50 DSLR and while it's great using interchangeable lenses, the resolution of the photos (only 6Mp) are not as good as the L18 (8Mp) when enlarged a lot. The video recording of this camera is excellent in resolution and capture quality and doesn't suffer from drop-outs or hesitation/skips that I experienced with a Samsung compact digital camera. This Nikon (despite not being made in Japan) has the quality and reliability worthy of the Nikon name. You won't go wrong in buying this camera.

Camera did great until I put it in panorama assist mode. It stopped working. Tried removing batteries, but camera started back in panorama assist mode and still would not work. Managed to use it about an hour before this happened. Returned for a replacement. Hopefully, the replacement will work properly.

I bought this for my 11 yr old daughter and she's having a blast with it. I tried it to see how it performs and I can't believe its a point & shoot. The pictures came out very nice, well defined and nice color/lighting.

I have the D40 but now I want to get one of this for instant photo-ops.

This is a great buy in low price.. I love it since I bought this... Easy to use, light weight, and excellent picture quality. You can download the pictures from this in any pc with Win-XP or above, without the help of any software installation (which some of the digicams do require). Must buy if you are planning to buy your first camera....

Bought for someone who has limited knowledge of use due to language barrier. After a half hour of teaching they took great pictures and videos and were able to play back pictures with ease. Their pictures from Europe vacation were great. Recommended for travel due to size and ease of use. More features are also included in camera but beyond scope of user at this time. Excellent for first time digital experience. Has nice feature of changing language on screen! Many languages to choose from!
