Comments about Nikon Coolpix P7000 10.1 Megapixel Digital Camera with 7.1x Optical Zoom, 3 inch LCD Display, 5-way VR Image Stabilization System - Black:

I use a Canon EOS 5D MkII w/F2.8 70-200 mm Zoom lens quite a lot and bought this camera as a back-up in a pinch - the 28-200mm lens is quite sharp and the compact size appreciated over the Canon L lens combo - picture quality is better than all the available samples on the net as of Oct 2010 including the Nikon site. My 1st Nikon and I am Impressed with the build and performance - only complaint is the slow processing time (several seconds) to write a RAW file (I'm even using a brand name SDHC class 6 card).

Overall, a very easy to use camera with no bugs in the version 1.0 firmware and have shot over 1,500 pictures w/o a hitch w/and w/o the internal and external flash - getting approx 250-275 shots on a battery charge - would suggest a spare battery but have not needed it yet.
