This is a great camera and priced right. This has 10 megapixels with a 5x zoom in a slim design. Pictures taken without flash are the best. Some pictures with flash have subjects with red-eye even with red-eye option on.

I have enjoyed this camera since I took it out of the box. It is still relatively new, but I have no complaints as of yet. I bought a second battery for it which I recommend. The battery is rechargeable as I wanted but you do have to remove the battery from the camera for charging. It's not hard to do but I think I'd like it better if I could just plug in the camera and it would charge kind of like a cell phone.

I use the camera for candid shots mainly of family and friends. The picture quality seems to be fine and the camera has many control features I have yet to learn and use. It is extremely compact allowing me to carry it at times when I would not do so with my larger camera. For the purposes I use it, the camera is great. The shutter lag does limit me with respect to action shots.

Though we've had this camera for a short period, it appears to be a hit with our teenage daughter. From what I've seen it's great at taking pictures. She has no problem navigating the menus or doing whatever kind of function she wants with it. Though I can't attest to it's durability or longevity at this point, I'm confident that we will continue to enjoy this camera as we have it longer.

Love all of the features. Carry it on my belt. Blur from camera shake no worse than any other camera I've used... Just have to be diligent how you push the button, as with all cameras.
VR seems to work well. Zoom is terrific, even the digital, given good lighting.
Love the high capacity SD cards. Love the calender sorting of the pictures.

Feature I'd like to add to this camera:
In camera "edit feature" to the movie mode.

The only negative I have:
Smile mode more of a gimmick as it does not work well with people that have hair around their mouths and in certain lighting. (No big deal to me, I just don't use it)

This is a great product and I found it here at Abes for a better cost then any black Friday special anywhere. The camera is very easy to setup and use right out of the box. We use XP and didn't even need to setup the camera software as the drivers installed automatically. My wife had the most fun with the smile feature of this device and we love the picture quality.

Takes great outdoor photos.

Inside photos are very good but need to take time to learn what settings work best. Once you see learn the different settings, you will be able to take very good inside photos. The image stabilization really helps also.

As the battery is a rechargeable one, which I like, you should always make sure to have an extra ready to go.

Two hidden design defects: First, no battery meter, so impossible to know whether to charge or not, or when on tour, whether the camera is about to go dead. Second, display is polarized, so if using polarized suglasses, rotating camera for vertical shot makes the display go black.

If I had known of these things, I would have chosen a different brand.

Its not the best one I've ever seen in this range of product, however, i found it good for the price i bought it for. Good quality in day time, however, not so in the night time and also while on auto flash mode/flash off mode!

This is a good camera for the price. 10megapixels is nothing to sneeze at. The auto-focus and face recognition are great and easy to use. Turn on face recognition mode, point the camera to your human subject's face and the camera will automatically take a pic when he/she smiles. No need to press the shutter button at the right moment.

However, the lowlight performance is lacking. Also, the tech specs on the site I purchased from (abes) said that this camera has an "auto rotation" feature. This was the feature that I wanted the most as the person I'm getting this camera for as a gift specifically wanted that feature. Come to find out that the auto rotate only works with face recognition mode and if a face was recognized. This means that there is no gravity sensing switch to tell if the pic is being taken in portrait or lanscape mode. This also means that I cannot just rotate the camera while reviewing saved pics to see the optimum aspect in the viewfinder. I'm very dissapointed in this mis-represented and half-baked feature. This "auto rotation" feature needs to have the caveat of "(in face recognition mode)" included in the specs.

If my rant doesn't bother you then you would be wise to give this camera a try.

This is an excellent camera and I'm very glad I bought it for travel use. It's tiny and takes good "day light" shots. I was disappointed in its inability to capture nightlight shots, especially since it has several scene settings geared for it. But, it has good zoom, and the large images allow you a lot of flexibility to capture memories.

Probably not important to most, but the charger DOES work overseas with 220 voltage without needing a special converter (just like most laptops do.) So, that was a nice convenience.

Recently took the kids on a Halloween Hayride and even while bouncing around the back of the trailer the camera took surprisingly image stable pictures. There was only one shot that came out blurry due to violent movement while taking picture. Otherwise the size, weight, picture quality is excellent for a camera costing less than $200usd.Purchased back in July 08 and took to Jersey Shore for weeklong vacation and once again the camera performed very well. No complaints yet and we will see how durable the camera is over time.
