Comments about Nikon D3000 10.2 Megapixel Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR Lens:

I am a beginner for Digital Photography with SLR camera. Nikon D3000 is a good choice for me. The Guide mode is good for a start. Picture quality and clarity is awesome. You can click in RAW format and then edit using any professional editing software. Tats a nice feature. Overall I am happy with this and no near plans to upgrade.

Comments about Nikon D3000 10.2 Megapixel Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR Lens:

This is a fine, not too expensive entry-level SLR. We use it mostly around the house to take pictures of friends and our pets. The camera takes great profile pictures (including eyes).
Unfortunately, the camera does not always take good shots in low-light situations. An added issue is that it takes longer to take pictures in these low-light situations, so sometimes a good moment is already gone by the time I took a picture.

Comments about Nikon D3000 10.2 Megapixel Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR Lens:

I decided to go with another Nikon after my previous D300 bit the dust. I must admit that I did not get a great deal of time with it without problems...I had it for approximately three years and had to return it to the manufacturer one time before the warranty expired. After the second episode of no LCD display and not being able to crop, the expense of fixing it outweighed buying a new one.
That being said, because of the time that I used the camera and was extremely pleased with it, I decided that maybe it was a fluke and would give Nikon another shot. To date, this camera has been great. The LCD screen is much larger than the previous camera. The battery life has been good. The picture quality is fabulous...especially on clear, sunny days when the photos really spring to life.
If you are a casual photographer looking for great pictures, Nikon is the best.

This camera is awesome. I have been wanting a DSLR for a while now, and it is so easy to use! I haven't figured out all the features yet, but so far I am having a blast figuring them out! Love the quality of the pictures and the fast shutter speed. Great for outdoor or indoor use. I really like the fact that I can change pictures to black and white or sepia after the picture has been taken. A great camera that I would recommend to anyone!

Comments about Nikon D3000 10.2 Megapixel Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR Lens:

I've only used the camera three or four times since my purchase, but over the last few weeks, it has been a great tool for my skills. I am a food blogger and freelance writer who enjoys taking photos of food for fun and also for assignments. The camera has been great in natural and indoor light, and it has been easy for a newbie to adjust to in a short time period. The build is small, light and carries well. I would recommend it for anyone looking for a good camera at a good price for themselves or someone else.

I generally keep ADL off most of the time to get fast results but it is really useful for some situation. This is great compact DSLR after D40 at almost same price. It comes with few enhancements over D40 but I would not say D40 was lacking anything.Just that D3000 is new in line. But if you are getting some enhancements like 11 pt focus, ADL and comes with VR lens with almost same price then why not have D3000 over D40.I would highly recommend this camera to all readers.Regarding purchasing from AbesofMaine, I have already purchased couple of cameras including D3000 and small Digital camera and I had really good shopping with better deals from them.[...]
