Why didn't I buy this before my big trip to Europe!? I used a cheap digital for my "trip of a lifetime" and brought back disappointing photos. I WANT A DO OVER! Did use it to take photos of Fall colors in the mountains and what a difference this camera made. Fun to use, can click away and easily deleted any shots I didn't like. Battery life is great. Had to change out batteries everyday with other camera while I was in Europe and spent a small fortune. This has been a GREAT upgrade.

Really impressed with the overall camera. This is the first of many SLR cameras I hope to own. It was more than I could have imagined, especially with the ease of use and affordability. I have only had it for a little over a month, and have taken thousands of photos in many settings--all beautiful and unique thanks to the D3000!!!

Takes great pictures, if you are not camera savy, it guides you through what mode is best for the particular photo op. Wish is was a little bit more portable but all-in-all a great camera!

We were looking to upgrade from a point and shoot camera to a dSLR. After some research and pricing comparisons we decided to go with the Nikon over a Cannon. We are very happy with our purchase and would highly recommend the d3000. The battery ran down fairly quickly, so I would recommend upgrading to a longer lasting battery so you can charge a battery while you're using the other one. Overall we are very pleased with our purchase, especially from Abes of Maine. This is our second camera purchase from Abes and I have no complaints. They are were great people to deal with!!!
