Just getting started with camera. There are differences from my old Nikon in built and feel. This is easy to use and a good learning camera with out all the extras of bells and whistles that you pay for. Seem to be good quality pictures and I like the idea you can enlarge a picture for a close up.

We use it mostly for photographing our kids sporting events. It is great, we can edit and delete pictures instantly from the camera and don't have to wait for film to be developed to find out that we took bad or good shots. If you do the math on how much film and developing costs these days this camera will more than pay for itself, and the convieniance of a high speed digital is priceless.

I'm just beginning to learn the capabilities of my D80. But those photos that I have taken are coming out beautifully. I am enjoying photography again after years of using just a point and shoot and the D80 is pointing the way for me to enjoy years of photo fun as a hobbyist and for school use as well.

I have been using my new D80 for a few weeks now and I am very happy with my purchase. After watching a few demo CD's on how to operate the camera and doing some research on the web to learn basic camera operations, I am quickly learning to get great photo's. I found that it is very challenging to get good photos in a basketball gym with low light and the basic lenses that come with the camera are not really designed for that situation. I am looking at lower aperature lenses (1.4 or 1.8) that should work well in low light sports scenarios. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and I love my new camera.

I was torn between buying the D80 or the Canon EOS XSi but after doing my research I decided on the D80 and I am SO happy with my decision. Great camera! Image quality is excellent. East to use. Since I am still a newbie, I haven't used the manual mode yet but I am eager to learn. :-)

I am a novice, but i was able to pick up this camera out of the box and put it to good use, taking quality pictures.

-Pictures are crystal clear.
-Easy to use(the basics)
-As I learn more advanced photography I will not outgrow this camera anytime soon.

-Both lenses have worked well for me as well.
