I use the Optio W60 as my 3 camera next to 2 other SLRs. This camera takes great shots with regards to light, exposure, and shapness. The lens is wide enough for landscapes and the zoom is just enough for this size. I have taken pictures with this camera which beats some of the SLRs and the best is that it withsatands dust and water. One problem is that the battery lid needs to be cleaned very carefully after exposure to sand and dust otherwise the sealer will not live too long and water will get in the camera.

This is replacing my W30 which I loved. It seems sturdier than the old one and has a bigger picture size which is nice.

Obviously it doesn't take the best pics ever, but that is only part of the point. It is waterproof and I can wade and have it out on teh boat or on shore while fishing and not worry about it at all! Underwater video is cool too!

The only problem I have with this camera is the lack of any kind of lens cover. I like to be able to throw my camera in a pocket without a case and not worry about it. The lens tends to get dirty with no cover. Makes me want to try out the Olympus 1030. No need for a 5x zoom under water. Every thing will look blue if you are that far away anyways.

Camera is great for paddling and outdoors with lots of light. Low light pictures not as good, but that's not why I bought it. Lens cover would be nice to not worry about scratches.

no lens cover so is easy to make finger smug on the glass. Need to buy extra battery so that you don't loose the setting as taking the battery out to charge will reset to default mode.

I have used this product to take pictures of friends and underwater pictures. I'll be using it next week on my trip to Belize when we go snorkeling. So far I like the setup and the options for formatting the camera onscreen, but the zoom leaves a little to be desired in the above-water category. For an underwater camera, however, this is the best camera on the market in this price range. It is also small and lightweight, convenient to carry anytime.

So far, so good. I bought it because it has a wide angle lense and it is freeze and waterproof. I do a lot of skiing and touring in the winter so it is nice to have those options. My only complaint is that nothing covers the lense when it is off, so I am nervous that it will get dirty and or cracked. I also would have liked to have a view finder, but was willing to sacrifice that for the wide angle lense.

Purchased this after my Canon Elph S100 (1st generation digital Elph from 2001) finally died.

The image quality of that 8 yr old camera was FAR superior to the W60.

Image quality under outdoor light is barely passable. Image quality indoors is very poor.

I'm keeping the W60 simply because I need a camera that I can keep in my PFD pocket while paddling. However I'm quite disappointed by it.

We chose this camera a our 3rd digital camera to take with us to use at the beach, at the pool, in and on the ocean. It is a snap shot camera with many many features. The other camera in its class is the Canon 1030w is a great camera and a bit better built, but we chose the W60 over it because of the wide angle lens and the 5x optical zoom. It is a take anywhere camera for us that will not get destroyed on the water. The only annoying thing so far is the AutoFocus noise gets picked up on the video clip audio. The only work around is to disable AF when doing video clips. We like the camera so much we bought a second one!

I have used this camera while cross-country sking. I can take pictures with one hand while going down hill. The temp was about 11F. I'm leaving soon for Cancun. I'll see how it handles the heat and water.

We use the camera in hot and dusty places in Africa. We don't have to worry about the elements with this camera. In sandy ocean waves, it can require a cleaning under running water to rinse out sand from shutter button. It takes good videos and pictures and works well for an active family. It helps to prefocus when timing is important.

We drag this camera everywhere! We do a lot of water sports so it is great not having to worry about it getting wet. Under the pet setting I use the black dog setting to take wonderful pictures of our black dog. Before it was hard to get a good picture of him. I recommend this camera to every one.

I have a brand new grand baby girl & a brand new pontoon boat--I plan on capturing precious moments on the lakes & bayous of South Louisiana {not much humidity here}. I'm a Pentaxion & the menu controls are very close to what I'm used to . Other than the noise It's a very user friendly & rugged little water proof camera. I like the onboard flash intesity settings--

Expecting a purse/pocket sized handy camera to assist my professional camera, I selected the Pentax water model so that my sons could use it fishing and scuba diving. I was disappointed in the (lack of) resolution and wonder how it could be a 10 MP rating! The battery also ran low quite rapidly. This camera wasn't even a keeper for me. I returned it after two weeks' trial.

while the images are not quite as sharp as my Nikon D100, the camera is far more convenient for traveling (fits into a pocket quite easily) and is waterproof. The camera has the advantage of not having a lens that protrudes from the case, making it more durable and less like to get a fatal lens error. However, there is nothing to protect the lens from scratches (Such as a lens cover)
