Comments about Panasonic DMC-TS1D 12.1mp Waterproof Digital Camera - Orange:

Got the camera because I am going to Thailand where it will be raining quite a bit. Figured a waterproof camera was worth the extra cash. I don't plan on submerging it while I am there as that seems like it is a sure way to break it but I thought I'd test it out before I left. When submerging it, it takes clear video and photos - really cool. But the LCD screen will flicker and sometimes water will get on the lens. I'm not sure if the water was on the inside or outside of the lens - it almost looked like condensation but I only found this out when reviewing the photos later. Overall, it still works after being submerged but I wouldn't go snorkeling with it.

Comments about Panasonic DMC-TS1D 12.1mp Waterproof Digital Camera - Orange:

Super product, wanted it since I saw an ad where a hiker skips it across a river onto rocks. HD video means I didn't need to buy a camcorder since my needs are relatively basic. Looks and exudes adventure and is small enough to go in the pocket. Huge photos, great range of modes, takes great photos. Although sometimes it lightens a scene too much, or the image can be a little soft.

Comments about Panasonic DMC-TS1D 12.1mp Waterproof Digital Camera - Orange:

The perfect point and shoot in my opinion. Take it anywhere and don't worry about anything! Takes excellent shots for a camera that feels bullet proof when you hold it. If your into hiking, skiing, biking, hunting, fishing or anything outdoors I highly recommend this camera for you.

My only complaint is zoom, the location of the zoom button so close to the shutter. If you hand it to someone to take your picture this could confuse them a bit. It has limited zoom but if you want zoom with quality then your not going to buy a point and shoot anyway.

Just got back from a week in Mexico, the camera came through with high marks. Snorkeling, rafting and hours in the pool, it took it all with no problems. Just be careful with getting sunblock on the lens or you will have some streaky pictures.

This Camera is used for just about everything even shooting dirty movies. Nothing quite like High-Definition video. I knocked one off the top this morning just doing video playback through my plasma. Get this Camera it Kicks Assenhouser, even Under Water, especially when I was doing reverse cow-girl and doggie. Camera can NOT be bought in the local stores.

Comments about Panasonic DMC-TS1D 12.1mp Waterproof Digital Camera - Orange:

Bought this as a xmas gift for the very active daughter that can break anything electronic (cellphones, cameras, etc.). The high res'n and wide angle lens is awesome. A lens cover would be nice - easy to get fingerprints on the lens. Although the ratings I read (dpreview-dot-com) placed this camera slightly behind the recent Canon entry, the much smaller size made it the hit of the season... She Loves This Camera! I am quite impressed with the resulting pictures. We'll see how the whitewater trip pictures look this Spring!

metering very good, especially in very bright conditions. i used the camera while skiing, and even with bright backdrop (and not set on snow settings) the white did not appear gray or washed out. i have not yet tried underwater, and not likely to do much, but camera so far is very good. will post again after more use. highly recommend.

I am using a Nikon DSLR with 18-135mm lens right now. But I also need a 2nd compact all-condition-gear plus waterproof camera. Compared with D10 and Olympas/Fuji waterproof products, I choosed the Panasonic TS1. Taken 700 shots. Love it!!!

Given to my son for his visit to the Yucatan Penninsula. Said the camera performed well until he was in a high humidy area and then it fogged up. Not good for a brand new camera. He is now in Montana so we will see how this performs in cold weather. What is the warranty on this camera it was just purchased on Dec 3/09.

Comments about Panasonic DMC-TS1D 12.1mp Waterproof Digital Camera - Orange:

No other camera compares to this one. Only two complaints: The zoom button is not practical and it gets stuck every now and then, specially at the beach with any bit of sand. The other issue regards to the material of the camera casing. It is very vulnerable to saltwater and it starts corroding very easily.
Basically, If the manufacturer fixed these two items it would say this camera has no cons at all. Still, it is the best camera ever!

Comments about Panasonic DMC-TS1D 12.1mp Waterproof Digital Camera - Orange:

Excellent performance on the ski slopes. I had the camera covered in snow and wet all day in my coat pocket and it worked great all week long. I used the battery that came with the camera and took 40 pics and 15 min of super high quality video in one day and only one bar of three was gone on the battery. It takes some reading of the owners manual to figure out which mode to be in for what situation. I say poor image stabilization because when you zoom in while shooting video the screen shakes and has a hard time focusing, but when not zoomed in the camera is smooth for pics and video. Camera does not come with Mini HDMI cable necessary for viewing hd video on your HD TV, but only $6 online.

Comments about Panasonic DMC-TS1D 12.1mp Waterproof Digital Camera - Orange:

I teach 2nd and 3rd grade and like to have my camera with me to take photos in the classroom and on field trips. Before this camera,I had a great one, but it couldn't hold up to being around a bunch of children all the time. One day, my purse, with the camera inside, fell on the floor and a child stood on it, breaking the camera. I bought this one in response to that situation. This camera is perfect for my needs. I can have it with me all the time and be ready for that perfect shot, and yet, I don't have to worry. If a child bumps into me, steps on the camera by accident, spills water or juice on it... The camera is fine. Additionally the photos are great for a little point and shoot camera. The other "tough" cameras that I looked at, had really poor photo quality.

Bought this camera for a beach vacation. It takes good pictures under bright conditions. Video is superb. Don't expect the images to be great under low light conditions. But then again, I will be in the beach when it's bright and sunny. It serves it's purpose. Got an eight gig class 10 memory card for long videos.

Comments about Panasonic DMC-TS1D 12.1mp Waterproof Digital Camera - Orange:

This is a fun camera for shoot around use. While the photos may lack some of the clarity of other top compact point and shoots, it's hard to beat the ruggedness of this camera. I use it for fun photos in a dusty environment and take photos in the plane while skydiving. It ticks easily into my pocket when I jump and I don't worry about damaging the camera from a little bump or two.
