I used this for the first time at my daughters birthday party. I purchased this camera for her. I own the SD800is and the camera takes beautiful pictures. There are plenty of different settings and plenty of manual settings too. I think the software is better and easier to use than the software that came with my camera. My daughter loves it. It is even smaller and lighter than my camera. I would definitely recommend this camera. It is a great buy for the money.

It is small enough to fit in your pocket or purse. I take my camera EVERYWHERE!!! I'm still trying to figure out all the different setting and how to maneuver through the different screens and settings. That part is confusing but I'm sure I'll get it in time. Also like how easy it is to download onto the computer or can just print straight through the printer. Just wish it would have came with a carrying case.

I bought the SD1100 to replace an old SD400 that worked well over the years until a glass of Champagne spilled over it. I use this camera mainly while traveling, backpacking and fly fishing as I have an S5 for more serious picuture taking. This little camera has more than is needed for a point and shoot, is easy to use and has great picture quality that is better than the SD400. Purchase a fast 2GB memory card (will eliminate long lag between takes) and an extra battery when ou purchase the camera and you won't get into any trouble.

I'm just getting into photography at my daughter's sporting events. I love the easy use of the camera, but as a beginner I am a little overwhelmed with the many functions that are included. I marked down on photos in low light as I haven't found how to correct that yet. Love the size! I'm capturing some great outside photos with little difficulty and would recommend to other beginners. Just find the time to sit down with the instruction book and camera as I will be doing shortly.

Now in my senior years, I wanted to NOT carry around a bag full of lenses and heavy camera bodies. I find that I'm taking as good or better pictures than I did when I was missing shots, deciding which lens to use and which camera body to put it on. Of course , I'm limited as far as telephoto shooting goes, but the simplicity of it all is worth the missed tele shots. I love it!!!

Quick and effective red-eye correction, image stabilization, fast shutter speed, great zoom, great focus, great picture quality, high resolution, and a very helpful user manual.

Overall a great value for money. The technical specifications are as good as the best cameras out there, which makes it a perfect buy for a long term use.

I love this camera. What a treat after years of being addicted to my SLR. My only complaint - I believe the controls could be simplified. I continually have to look things up in order to use a new or rarely used funtion.
