Camera worked okay for a couple days then stopped. Manual features (aperture/shutter speed) quit working. Owners manual discusses Green focusing square for "in focus" and yellow square for "shaky, needs flash". However, my shots showed up with BLUE square, which is mentioned nowhere in the manual. Shots were also fuzzy. Under manual functions, screen is supposed to show you how picture will look as you change aperture/shutter. Often didn't work. No change to screen as you rotate dial. Zoom froze once and had to turn off the camera to unfreeze. Called Canon. They were very helpful and sent me an RMA to return. Hopefully the next one will work correctly. NOTE: The pictures that did work were GREAT!

Got this camera for a trip to Yellowstone. It really showed it's stuff. Got some wonderful shots of wildlife with the long zoom that other photographers just couldn't get. Longest zoom is in the range of 330mm in 35mm-film equivalent. That is really long! The camera also took great wide-angle shots of landscape. To top it off, I slipped and fell and banged the camera up -- it was hanging on my wrist -- but the camera continued to work perfectly. Couldn't ask for more in a compact travel camera.

We purchased this camera to suppliment our old PowerShot digital ELPH for a planned 2-week trip to Europe. We took approx 1200 still shots and 30 minutes of video with it in 2 weeks. The image detail is amazing. even when viewed on our 42" LCD TV! And the 12X optical zoom allowed us to bring in those long shots in the mountains and to photograph the Pope from the middle of St. Peter's Square. The battery needed charging about every second day, but the charger provided works on 220V European current without a converter. We both agreed that the camera was a great choice for documenting our travels.

I just wanted a little point and shoot that did video (HD preferred). this fit the bill nicely. I have a Nikon D70 that I use primarily. Getting used to the lag of a "normal" point and shoot takes a bit of getting used to - but its perfect for what I wanted. Plus the kids have no problems using it and I'm not concerned about them breaking it like I would be my DSLR.

Great Camera. Sharp Clear photos. The 12x and 12MP combinination is phenomenal. Highly recommended. [...]The only minor issue I have with the camera is setting the AF & AE Lock functions in the manual mode. The display indicators do not indicate if they are actually locked per the instruction manual.

This is a great camera with lots of features and a high power zoom lens built into it so you don't have to cart around extra lens and always have a great zoom available. The camera itself has lots of features for the enthusiast and an easy mode for the beginner! The only problems I've had is that when you are in certain modes (e.g. kids & pets or auto) when you try to access the functions they are not the same for each mode. For example, if I'm in one mode I can turn the flash off or set flash to auto and then in another mode I may not be able to change flash settings at all. Another example, is that I can change to continuous shooting in one mode but not in another. I LOVE the camera so I guess I'll get used to the functions difference and it may just be that I'm used to other manufacturers. Hope this helps!

Because of flash placement, it would be better to program the flash to pop up only when the flash is needed. I've owned 4 Canon's and this camera is equal to the G series. It's an excellent combination of size and features
