The flash is a little different as far as location but easy to adapt,easy to shot and tons of options for custom shots,very pleased-get an extra battery you will want to take more shots.

Great pictures and video in HD. Very easy to set up and use. I just leave it on auto and take all my pictures and video. My 2 year old son can turn it on and take pictures. Good times...

does all it claims to do. pop up flash can be annoying but this is certainly not a serious problem. excellent substitute for a DSLR due to 12X zoom and high megapixals. certainly handier than carrying a lot of lenses to do most of what a DSLR can do.

Pros:

This camera is the best that I have owned, by far. The resolution of the pictures is amazing, and I found the shutter speed to be fast enough to catch my son in mid jump off of our boat. I typically use the AUTO setting, only because I haven't familiarized myself with the others. The zoom is amazing for it being such a compact camera. Also, the screen is huge, which makes it easy to get good photos!

Cons:
My only real complaint is that the pop up flash is hard to get used to...I naturally allways put my finger where it is located. I have owned this camera for about 3 weeks, and the flash is no longer an issue (my hand is re-trained). Also, the camera is small, but not as small as most digitals. When you purchase a camera case, have your camera at hand to size out the right one.

This is a fabulous camera at a great price. This is the perfect choice between your point-and-shoot and SLR. It's much more versatile than your traditional point-and-shoot camera and gives you many of the SLR shooting options. Plus it fits in your bag or jacket pocket. I like the new design that isn't as bulky as other 10x-12x optical zooms and don't find the pop-up flash to be in the way.

I love the face detection technology, especially when you want to join the photo. The ISO3200 setting is FANTASTIC - I can't even get that on my Canon XTi SLR. The panoramic assist mode is very nice too if you want to take those vista shots.

I haven't had any battery issues, but I am going to vacation in a couple weeks and we'll see how it does if I'm shooting all day long (bringing a spare battery & the SLR).

The HD movie mode is great as well. I had been looking at the Flip video cameras and this is much better quality and packaged with my camera so I have one less device to carry.

My only wish - no underwater casing, but I think that may be difficult with the pop-up flash, however, I'll leave that to the engineers & I'm sure that there will be one eventually.

Get this camera, even if you leave it on automatic.
