This camera is great! Great zoom, great quailty! Only problem is when you are trying to take pictures back to back it doesn't always work. There is a bit of a lag, sometimes longer at times, between taking one picture and taking another. Also, I was at a concert and took a couple of videos and the sound quailty wasnt great. But that could have been caused by being front row and the music being very loud. So that might not be anything to do with the camera.
Overall, I love this camera!

I gave this camera to my wife for her birthday. She needed something simple and small. This camera fits the bill. She has taken over 100 pics in the last month with only 1 or 2 blurry ones. She loves the compact size because she can carry it with her all day while she has the daycare kids around. Takes great shots and is easy to use.

Ideal starter camera for youngsters. Non- rechargable batteries better for camera that will get intermittent use. Wish it had image stabilization.

i can't stand this camera! i can't wait for it to kick the bucket! if you try to delete more thank 1 pic it ends up "locking up" (turns off but, the camera lens is still sticking out). The design for the card and battery is poor. Great idea to put them together. But, makes it IMPOSSIBLE to get the card out of the camera. Takes ok pics...not good not bad.
not sure I'd recommend to a friend...depends on how good of a friend-haha!

I've bought another coolpix about two years ago and my manager liked it since it's easy to ues.
I just purchased 5 more new ones to be used by his direct reports, for work contitions. I like this one even better that the other it has a bigger viewing screen. That makes a diffence when your evaluating work contitions/products.

I especially like the video & macro features. With a 4 gig. memory card, you get 40+ mins. of video shooting.

Very hard to capture kids who constantly move all the time., Even if they slightly shake their head or turnaround, the image is shaky., Every thing else is very good , image quality, ease of use etc.., but if you take 10 picture 5 will be bad., So it is worth only 50% of what has been advertised.

In adequate light, this camera performs great - so perfect for those Summer vacations. Low light conditions made the pictures look grainy and old, even with the flash. I had tried different lighting options, then got a professional to look at it. They said that it was a pretty good camera for the price, but sometimes the flash isn't enough on personal cameras. The video is the same way. I have a high speed SD card so not as much lag as some, but it is kind of annoying when trying to capture a precious moment, they don't always last long enough for the camera to snap.

Im a casual photographer who takes pictures from my dogs, family events and travels. Nikon L20 is enough for me and for my parents, it is an easy to use, good looking camera with average image quality. The bad thing is the time the camera takes to focus on subjects and when I take a picture with a background, it becomes a little blurried, but the person itself is nice and clean.

Overall its a good camera for its price. Im very satisfied with it.

This is my first camera in 20 years so it's long overdue. A little difficult for a novice but my teens are helping me figure it all out. Great quality, great pictures, even video precious moments - well worth the cost.

I did not like the fact that if you insert the batteries before the media card before you get a note in the LCD that says the video card is formatted. You cannot make it go away unless you remove the batteries and card then insert the card first and turn the power on. Then you can take pictures.

It seems that the camera doesn't operate well in low light and pictures sometimes turn out blurry. However, if you shoot in bright light with a good subject (on high quality) your photos will turn out wonderful. I would recommend this product as a casual photography gift or purchase for yourself.

This is a great camera for a casual photographer who loves to take pictures while traveling or of their friends and family!!! I love the large LCD and the fact that you can use "normal" rechargeable batteries in this camera. Really, this camera has all the necessary functions that you need, it is simple and fun!

I use it to take outdoor pictures. I like the camera but the time between pictures is not as quick as advertised. In bright light the LCD is hard to see. I compare it to my Olympus Camera I already own. Both are in the same class of camera.

I bought this camera for my girlfriend when she went to Europe for 16 days... she keeps emailing me, and calling me on the phone telling me how great it is.. that the picture quality is outstanding and that is blows her other camera out of the water. I recommend this product.

I also have a 10 megapixels Canon and my Coolpix is way better in low light conditions. The only thing I would like Nikon to improve is the battery lasting, but is still O.K. because I can find AA batteries anywhere I travel frecuently into Mexico's country side and I have not had any problems finding batteries.

To have a 10mp camera and video camera all in one, [$] is a great bargain!! But the most surprising feature on this camera was the video capability. On my 2gb card, I can take up to 30 mins. of video and the quality is excellent! I was able to easily download the video to my computer, edit, then post to the internet. This was actually better than my video camera that I purchased 3 years ago. The photo quality and feature selections are great too.

I bought this camera because i wanted something small that I can take with me to the park or zoo and get quick shots of the kids. This is my 4th digital camera, but my first Nikon so far I havn't found anything I don't like. It could be a little thinner but I like that it takes reg. batteries I use the lithium batteries and they still seem to be going strong. As with any digital camera that I've seen there is a lag time between pics, but this one seems not to be too long it is a little tricky getting the timing right but I think with more use I will get used to it. The print quality is better than any camera I've had in the past. 10 mp is pretty nice!!

Good backup camera for my Nikon D90, nice video feature, shutter lag is not too bad for a compact camera, nice small size - fits in just about any pocket. No complaints, I'd buy one again. Best price was at Abe's of Maine
