Got this camera for my 11 year old granddaughter.She use her money tooo and helped pick it out...although she liked the color...it wasn't the thing that truly matered. She loves taking pic's. Zoom,megapixels,comfort of use when it came to the controls,view screen size,battery life, and performance were all very important. this camera had good reviews....tried it out at the store along with a few others on our list...this was the one. I am an avid picture taker and knew what to look for...for the price point..this one filled the bill. Well...after a few weeks of taking pic's...she loves it...very easy for her to use...although I must say she doesn't use many of the extras...but will in the future. battery life is great and the viewing is good...takes ok video for a small camera. small size for the size of the zoom...the optical zoom was the diciding point for us...as we must have a good zoom...I feel we made a good choice.

Try setting ISO to 200; when flash is used, ISO jumps sometimes to unacceptable levels causing grainy photos; at least that is my opinion

Its a great product from Nikon. A very useful and handy camera need not need any ordinery battery. It has its own longer life re-charging battery.
