The waterproof and rugged design have allowed use while kayaking without concern for destroying the camera. It is also easy to carry while cycling. Although the response time is much slower than my SLR digital, it's a good tradeoff.

Excellent camera construction, look and feel. Minor issue with take pictures using the flash .. my big hands tend to partially cover the flash.
My major complaint is that when the camera is set to take multiple pictures, there is a lag time .. between the shots. Do not take action shots with this camera. Chances are you will miss all the actions

Love my Stylus Tough 8000
I was looking for a camera that was water resistant, and my stylus gave me much more. works great right out of the box. Menu took just 30min to learn all features. Went on vacation snorkeling and diving it work great under water. Definately get an extra battery becasue you will be taking lots of pictures.
